Nambour is a bustling business and residential township offering an enviable rural lifestyle and many opportunities to the people here. We locals love living in Nambour. Being centrally located to the Sunshine Coast beaches and the Hinterland, Nambour is an amazing place to live, work, rest and play. Enjoy all that Nambour has to offer!  You may be surprised by what you discover!

We're a mixed bunch. Some of us have deep connections to this area developed over many generations and other of us have been drawn here from elsewhere and for all sorts of reasons. We are small business people, big business people, employers and employees, artists, musicians, foodies, farmers, writers, teachers, greenies, students, health and community workers, skaters, sporty people, young people right through to retirees. We share common values - a strong sense of community, an appreciation for a more gentle pace of life and preference of authenticity over glitter.

Nambourians are warm, friendly and welcoming. We value our town's rich agricultural past, our history and the way that history is helping to shape our future. We love our pristine natural environment, we value family and community life, the arts, sports, we value education, good conversation and that great "country town" feel. We love Nambour's unique character and invite you to see it through our eyes.

Historically, Nambour was a business hub servicing the entire Sunshine Coast region. However, as the Sunshine Coast Council continues its push to develop Maroochydore as the new city centre, Nambour as a community and business precinct has changed and is being forced to adapt. As as a community, we're tackling that challenge head-on. The unique beauty of this rural township and its' offerings in education, the natural environment, health, recreation, affordable housing, business potential, liveability, transport, dining and entertainment are all significant attractions.

Ideally situated between the sea and the hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Nambour is surrounded by farmland and lush green rainforest brimming with native flora and fauna. We have great weather too! Being in SE Queensland, Nambour has a sub-tropical climate where the chill of Winter only visits for a few days a year. Our air is fresh and clean and for the budding home gardener, almost everything will grow in Nambour!

Nambour has true character and heritage. We have beautiful, grand old Queenslander homes in tree-lined heritage streets and of course a great selection of affordable contemporary housing. Raising a family here is great. A simple life is still achievable. Our schools are top class. Nambour has even produced an Australian Prime Minister! There are sporting clubs, creative arts, theatre and dance groups, an Olympic sized pool, a state of the art movie theatre and unlike more highly developed areas, we still have backyards big enough for a game of cricket!

There's a great selection of restaurants and cafes offering delicious food from around the world. There is street art to see and an extensive trail of collectable and curio stores featuring all things retro including vintage fashion and op shops. Check out the Vintage & Retro Trail.

Nambour is home to an impressive line-up of nationally and internationally acclaimed events at the Nambour Showgrounds throughout the year such as the Queensland Garden Expo, Queensland Caravan Camping and Fishing Expo and Collectorama. There are great parks, children’s playgrounds, beautiful creek walks and a Koala park that are all well worth exploring.  Why not visit the waterfall located in town at Cilento Park! And don’t forget to discover our sugar cane history at the Nambour Heritage Museum.

Like the rest of the country, Nambour has experienced a significant decline in demand for commercial retail property. Despite this Nambour offers great shopping and business services all conveniently located in our CBD.
