Nambour Chamber of Commerce new strategic direction and focus is taking shape.
Updated: Dec 17, 2019
Over the past couple of years, the Nambour Chamber of Commerce has been working hard to improve our membership services, our communication with members and other stakeholders, and better convey why we are here and what we are aiming to achieve. We have rebranded to become the Nambour Chamber of Commerce. Why? Because people understand more easily what the Chamber of Commerce is about. We have focussed our attention and our services to members will reflect that clear vision Networks | Advocacy | Knowledge.
As the Nambour Alliance, we concluded that we were trying to be all things to all people and that's never ideal. The Nambour Chamber of Commerce serves the Nambour community best by supporting and advocating for the business people and organisations that operate here.
Our President Tim Smith will provide more information about our plans, new members and office bearers for 2020 and an update on ReImagine Nambour in his next report after the Board meeting on 17th December 2019 but here’s a general update.
We farewell Tony Vella from our Board this year. Tony served this Board and the Nambour Community diligently and strongly advocated for Nambour for 10 years. Tony was President of the Nambour Alliance from 2015 - 2017. He drafted and championed for the Nambour Town Vision, he has served on the Sunshine Coast UDIA brand committees, transport taskforce groups and school boards. Until recently was one of our representatives on the ReImagine Nambour Steering Committee. Tony was President of the Nambour Alliance from 2015 - 2017. Tony will continue to be an active member of the NCOC and will develop our new youth chamber. Thank you, Tony! We appreciate your hard work and will miss your knowledge and passion on our Board.
The NCOC has a fully energised Board, ready to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in for 2020. See the Board Member pic above and visit our website www.nambour.com for more info. We welcome Hayley Saunders (Bendigo Bank) back on the Board, Jonny Budnellu (Guru Life), Elissa Wake (USC), Mary Eggleston (C-Square and Fritz Frames) to our team.
Check out our new website www.nambour.com. Some of our members are offering exclusive member discounts to other NCOC members. Please check out the Corporate Members page the Members Directory.
If you are a member and your business is not listed in our directory, you will need to provide us with some information. Please contact Julie on firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’d also like to share the love with other NCOC members, please let Julie know what special offer you want to promote.
Many thanks to Shaun Andre from https://www.facebook.com/lagunabayphotography for taking the new Board Member headshots for the website.
Ali Atkinson from www.shortsharpandshiny.com here in Nambour created this new site. What a great job! We love the new professionalism conveyed by this website, the contemporary look and feel as well as the improvement in navigability and user experience.
If you're needing a website (or any other marketing and communications services), Short Sharp and Shiny offers significant discounts to NCOC members. Call Ali on 0431622677 for a free, no-obligation meeting to discuss.
Tweaking the website will continue for a little while. If you pick up anything that isn't quite right, please email email@example.com directly.
You may have already seen our new logo and tag line. It's clean and simple and represents connections and linkages. Over time this will become easily recognisable and synonymous with our core values and member service offering. But logos are only a representation of a brand and the brand will mean different things to different people depending on your perspective and experience.
Please remember, your Chamber is nothing without you! Please get involved, come to events, volunteer and promote this organisation to your professional colleagues. Your NCOC Board is open to ideas on improved services, representation, events, especially those that come with an offer of hands-on assistance to get things done! We are all volunteers and though we do this willingly, we want and need our members to participate. If you are interested in participating in NCOC activities please email firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us what you're interested in doing. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone interested in getting involved in events.
We connect with over 1800 people on our Facebook page. Through this, we let people know what we're doing and seek to create a stimulating and respectful forum for discussion about local, national and indeed global issues that affect our members running businesses and other organisations that serve this community.
If you haven't collected your member's pack from the NCOC office, please contact Julie to arrange to pick it up.
