Having been born and educated in Nambour, my ties and passion for the town are deep-seated and although I refrain from preaching ‘We should get back to the good old days’ I strongly believe we are heading towards a positive future for Nambour. My mother, Norma Dickson, had the Norma Dickson School of Dance in Nambour. She was born in Yandina and started other schools across the coast in 1945. Many longtime residents of Nambour and their children were taught by mum. My brother in law, Ross Stevens, owns Power Chiropractic in Nambour.

Being in the Real Estate industry I spend at least half of everyday meeting new people in the area, I try to put 5 new contacts in my database every day. This interaction with the community sets me up perfectly to interact and hear their issues and concerns.

I also have a unique opportunity to gauge the growth of Nambour through extremely accurate housing, land and business development patterns and forecasts.

I find my clients are my network, I can listen to them and report back to the board, I can also give them information on future events and development within the community.

I am also an active member of the Nambour Bowls Club and started playing bowls there with my father in 1990. I sponsor a tournament and donate prizes on a weekly basis.

As most businesspeople are, I am time poor, however, I have committed to producing the ‘Nambour Chamber of Commerce Business Champions’ video series as my major responsibility at the Chamber. This is a series of episodes featuring Gold Members of the Chamber in a short video showing more about their business, the member themselves and their views on the growth of business in Nambour.
