Tony Vella

Tony is the Operations Manager for Downes Group surveyors, planners. Over the last 7 years Tony has headed Downes Group’s leadership team to become a local mobile consultancy successfully expanding into new surveying service sectors and regions. Previously a stakeholder and regional manager of a large trusted Queensland surveying and town planning consultancy, Tony is an involved industry professional with 25 years experience in the construction and development industries across Australia. Much of Tony’s work surrounds land consulting, planning, surveying and titling advice. When Tony came to town, he saw a place set in a beautiful landscape largely out of focus and seemingly moved to the side by government. Hayley Saunders

Hayley travels to Nambour for her role as the Manager of the Bendigo Bank branch on Lowe St. Hayley initially joined the board as there has always been a representative from Bendigo Bank on the Alliance, and since joining she has gained a much greater appreciation of the wonderful sense of community which is apparent in town. Hayley previously participated in the Nambour Creative Commerce group which aimed to fill empty shops with creative retail businesses. Her favourite part of Nambour is all the great, eclectic little stores that are dotted around town. She loves the fact that after finishing work at 5 she can pop into a funky little bar, order a quick pizza and then catch a fantastic movie at the Cinema. Timothy Smith

Tim is a very busy man. He and his wife Leanne own and operate the Nambour Bag Shop on the corner of Currie St and Lowe St, and which to date has been in operation for around 40 years. They have owned the business since 2003. Timothy also operates a small business management consultancy business, which involves working with small businesses to establish their company accounting systems, formulating budgets and cash flow forecasts, quality assurance compliance and all compliance reporting, including B

Lisa Fry

A Nambour girl from way back, Lisa has recently returned to live in town after a long hiatus. Her career has focused on building business success across a wide range of industries. She is also passionate about education and the support of our youth, and has training and experience in these areas as well. Lisa sees that through collaboration and communication, Nambour can continue to develop into a healthy, happy and cohesive community. Her focus in her role on the board of the Nambour Alliance is in the areas of providing support for existing and emerging business, community communication facilitation and to advocate for the realisation of elements of the Nambour Activation Plan.

Mark Bray

Mark is a solicitor and the owner of Bradley & Bray Solicitors Nambour since 1986. His practice is located on Ann St. Mark joined the Nambour Alliance because he wanted to take a closer interest in what is happening in Nambour. Mark also enjoy the interaction with the other board members. He moved to Rosemont about 5 years ago after living down on the coast for many years and feels that Nambour is a cool place and he is looking forward to being involved in its growth moving forward. Mark feels that it is important the Nambour retains its country feel and is able to provide a point of difference to the beach and the other coastal locations in the region. Marty Hunt

Marty has been a Police Officer for the past 28 years and was appointed full time to the PCYC in Nambour 15 years ago. Marty became a member of the Nambour Alliance as he felt that his connections in the community sector, along with his experience in running a large community organisation would be a valuable asset to the board.  Part of his role is to do what he can for community development and being a board member of the Alliance allows Marty to offer the community and social capital behind the PCYC and also to tap into the support of the business community in return. James Hall

James Hall is the priest at the Anglican Church in Nambour, and has been living locally for the past 8 years. He is also the chair of the Nambour Ministers Fraternal. James is passionate about our community and enjoys participating in an organisation that works to bring the business community together with the council and the wider community. James feels that as a church leader his strength is building communities and is keen to see our Nambour community strengthened. James would like to see the Nambour community grow together, with great communication and collaboration right across our wonderful community, and where we are able to work together to help find community solutions. He (like most of us) would also love to see every shop front filled and streets buzzing with activity.

Kayla McDiarmid

Kayla is relatively new to Nambour having moved here in November 2015 to open Easy Travel and Cruise. She has worked for the company for 5 years after starting as a school based trainee in Murray Bridge South Australia. Kayla joined the Alliance to expand her business connections. After seeing how passionate the locals are for our community she wanted to get involved to further improve business and the image of Nambour. Kayla admits that before moving here she didn’t even know where Nambour was, however there are so many great events, quirky cafes and shops, and so much collaboration in town that she feel strongly about helping to put Nambour more firmly on the map as a great place to live, work and visit. Not surprisingly Kayla likes to travel. She is also a member of Rotaract.

Rosalind Graham

Rosalind has a marketing background, having had various roles both locally, nationally and overseas over the past 18 years across sectors such as healthcare, recruitment, finance, retail and shopping centre management. Most recently she has been working for the Nambour RSL as their Marketing and Communications Manager.  Previously Rosalind ran her own consultancy business. After attending a number of Alliance events and witnessing our projects, Rosalind could relate to the Nambour Alliance’s positive, inclusive vision for strengthening the town's economic prospects and felt that she would like to contribute to the group’s productivity. Rosalind’s vision for Nambour is to see it grow and prosper, carving a unique identity that capitalises on the strong community feel. She would like t

Leon Granzien

Leon is the Director and Principal architect at Terra Leoria Architects and has significant experience in the fields of architectural design, construction documentation and building contract administration, along with project and resource management. Leon felt that he may be able to use these skills to contribute toward the delivery of projects for the Nambour Activation Plan and joined the Nambour Alliance board to see how he can best assist. Leon has been married to Victoria for 26 years and they have a cat called Ramsay. They have lived in Kulangoor since 2010 but had been previously lived on the Sunshine Coast in 1999-2001.
